Getting Started
Get Nudgy Bot up and running in just a few minutes. This guide will walk you through the installation and initial setup.
Prerequisites
- A GitHub account or organization
- A Slack workspace where you have permission to install apps
- Admin access to the repositories you want to monitor
Step 1: Install Slack App
Start by adding Nudgy Bot to your Slack workspace. This lets the bot send notifications and display the Home Tab interface.
- Click the Get Started Free button on our homepage
- Select your Slack workspace
- Review and approve the requested permissions
- You'll be redirected back after successful installation
Step 2: Open the Home Tab
All configuration happens in the beautiful Slack Home Tab interface:
- In Slack, search for @Nudgy Bot
- Click on the bot name to open its conversation
- Click the Home tab at the top
- You'll see the configuration interface ✨
Step 3: Link GitHub Organization
Connect your GitHub organization with one click:
- In the Home Tab, click "Add Organization"
- You'll be redirected to GitHub
- Select your account or organization
- Choose which repositories to authorize
- After installation, you're automatically redirected back to Slack
- Your Home Tab refreshes with your linked organization 🎉
Step 4: Add Repositories
Configure which repos to monitor and where notifications go:
- Click "Add Repository from [Your Org]"
- Choose a repo from the dropdown (shows only your authorized repos)
- Select which Slack channel receives notifications
- Customize reminder timing or use defaults
- Optionally enable weekly stats
- Click "Add Repository" — Done! 🚀
